Crossroads Growth Part 2
Crossroads has been growing steadily, and has recently been featured again on a San Diego News Station, this time being ABC 10 News. New coverage is extremely vital for a social service like Crossroads that truely benefits the most from a strong community backing and word of mouth spreading its importance. Lets breakdown this monumental coverage, how we got here, and what this means for the future crossroads and homelessness as a whole in San Diego.

How we got here
Lets quickly recap how Crossroads got to the point of being covered by a media group for the 3rd time (that we know of). Starting in February, the idea of CrossroadsSD was born out of a collaboration between Hayden Hughes (myself) and People Assisting The Homeless to create a resource that makes accessing homeless resources in San Diego easier and quicker. Then, the site began field testing, in which we got well needed feedback directly from those on the streets. Afterwards, the site went live, and slowly we began going to community events to partner with as many organizations as possible. Even better we have been featured on NBC 7 news, Cause San Diego’s podcast, and now ABC 10 News. All of this media coverage has brought a ton more resources to our site, and has been the driving factor behind the sites recent growth.
What this means
CrossroadsSD thrives on media coverage and press exposure as that is our best way of getting to smaller resource providers in the city who may not have a big internet presence. We are hoping that just like the previous 2 press releases, Crossroads will be introduced to countless more resources, and we can partner with them to add their incredible resources to our site.
What the future holds
With continuing growth and a ton of success behind it, Crossroads SD might look towards other cities in the future to bring what we have created here nationwide. CrossroadsSD has proven to be extremely successful, and can hopefully be applied in the same manner to cities all across the United States to hopefully help dampen homelessness there aswell.
